    During the meeting, the Indonesian Ambassador to Abuja expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian Minister of Defense for his willingness to receive an honorary visit from the Indonesian Embassy.

    Besides aiming to introduce themselves, the Indonesian Ambassador also provided opportunities related to exploring military and defense cooperation between Indonesia and Nigeria, especially in the field of military training and education as well as cooperation in the development of the defense industry.

    Responding to the submission of the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Abuja, the Minister of Defense of Nigeria (Ret.) Bashir enthusiastically welcomed the opportunities related to military and defense cooperation to strengthen bilateral relations between the two established countries. so far.

    Diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Nigeria opened in 1965 and since then Indonesia has had an Embassy in Lagos (but since 2008 moved to Abuja). While the Nigerian Embassy in Jakarta only opened in 1976.

    Relations between the two countries have been going well and continue to improve. This is based on the fact that the two countries are members of the NAM, the OIC, groups 77, G-15, D-8, OPEC, UN, anti-apartheid, anti-colonialism / imperialism and both are trying to realize the New World Information Order.

    The two countries always mutually support each other in the national interests of each country. Nigeria is also one of the countries that continues to provide support for Indonesia's territorial integrity and integrity.

    The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General of the Nigerian Ministry of Defense, Mr. Sabiu Zakari, Director of the Joint Services Department, Ny. Olu Mustapha, General Chief of Staff Chief of the Minister, Brigadier General Awwal Faggae, Executive Political Function of the Indonesian Embassy in Abu Surya Tri Surya and Implementation of the Economic Function of the Indonesian Embassy in Abuja Darius Erlangga and closed with a souvenir exchange between the two parties and a group photo session. - R-01
