Ahmad Luthfi inspects flood victims in Pemalang

BERITA SOLO | PEMALANG — Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi inspected the follow-up to the flood and landslide disaster management in Pulosari District, Pemalang Regency, Central Java.

He provided direct instructions for comprehensive post-disaster management, particularly regarding the affected communities.

Disaster management in Pemalang has been carried out holistically since the first day of the incident, even when the Pemalang Regent declared a disaster emergency status.

All regional government agencies (OPDs) and relevant stakeholders, from the provincial to the regency levels, and the central government, have also been involved according to their respective fields.

"Today, we are implementing and ensuring that the handling of the affected communities is clear and complete," said Luthfi after delivering instructions at the Pulosari District Office and inspecting the disaster site in Penakir Village yesterday.

Some of the important points underlined by Ahmad Luthfi were follow-up measures related to evacuees, education, temporary and permanent housing, health, and infrastructure repairs.

He cited the example of 813 families (KK) with a total of 2,777 evacuees in Pulosari District. Around 80 houses were damaged, around 78 plots of land were damaged, and dozens of bridges were damaged.

"This is to ensure that the truly affected communities receive maximum assistance, and of course, the most important thing is to think about how to move forward," he explained.

He explained that affected communities must be registered by name and address (name and address) so they can recover socially and economically. This includes recording valuables, livestock, and affected land.

Furthermore, insurance claims will be filed for flooded agricultural land.

Regarding education and health, Luthfi has requested the education office to prepare temporary learning spaces, including deploying competent teachers to assist children in the evacuation centers.

Regarding health, he instructed that check-ups be carried out routinely and that in case of an emergency, patients should be rushed to the nearest hospital.(*)
